Your 100 Day Prayer: Day 92 – Renewing Our Strength
by TJ Bates via Theology Mix
Do you know? Have you not heard? the Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
–Isaiah 40:28-31
Have you ever seen an eagle soar? I have—what a beautiful sight! Each time I see one of these magnificient birds with its wings spread out floating so effortlessly in the sky, I am reminded of this verse and its promise.
“God is the only true and lasting source of energy and strength… When we’re young, we think we can handle anything, only to find out later that life isn’t ordered that way. But it is in these trials where we finally begin to learn that we were never intended to go it alone or to depend upon ourselves to get there. Life reminds us that ‘they who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.’ Nothing will overtake them; nothing will be too overwhelming for them.
We begin to understand that we are supposed to grow tired and weary, we are supposed to stumble and fall, because that’s the only way we get the point of our inadequacy and God’s all-encompassing sufficiency. It’s then we turn to rest in the power and strength of God. As the Lord taught the apostle Paul, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness’ (2 Cor. 12:9).”
TODAY’S PRAYER: Ask God continually for more strength, more energy, more of everything it takes to get there in one piece. He never gets tired of hearing that request even when we are weary of making it.
