Your 100 Day Prayer Journey: Day 1 – In the Beginning
Impossible situations, heartbreak, losses, wrong choices—been there, done that!
What do you do when faced with an impossible situation, a disturbing problem or loss, or a major life decision?
Alfred Lord Tennyson said, “More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of.” At Starnberg Fellowship, we strongly believe in the power of prayer and the necessity of a strong prayer life. For this reason, we are joining together to thank God for his love and grace, to place before him those things on our hearts that only he knows about, and to ask him for his help and guidance.
If you’re like most of us, our intentions are good, but then we lose focus or just don’t have the stamina to carry on—our burdens just weigh us down. The book, Your 100 Day Prayer: The Transforming Power of Actively Waiting on God, is like a prayer partner. It helps you to know that others are praying with you as you together wait on God for his answers and deliverance. It is in the praying and waiting that our faith stretches and grows.

Your 100 Day Prayer: Day 1 – In the Beginning
What is your prayer today? Ask God to help you hear his plans for you as we begin our 100 Day Prayer Journey.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
-Genesis 1:1-2
In Your 100 Day Prayer: The Transforming Power of Actively Waiting on God, the author describes these verses as follows:
“In the very first two verses of Genesis, the Hebrew writer portrays the Spirit of God as ‘hovering over’ the unformed and unruly mass, much like the mother bird fluttering over her brood. The picture here is the very careful and loving attention God gives to his creation—protecting, shaping, and guiding its development. In other words, there’s no room for chance or randomness. Everything is under his control.”
TODAY’S PRAYER: Ask the Holy Spirit to bring order, peace, and purpose into your need and request.
