Your 100 Day Prayer: Day 53 – The Plan
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declared the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” -Jeremiah 29:11-13
Israel was in exile when Jeremiah sent his letter to them. They had been stubborn and rebellious against God and were suffering the consequences. So “…to preserve them from destruction as a people, God put them through a time of discipline and correction.
All along, God had a plan for them. He called them back to that plan when the time was right and reminded them that his purpose was always to prosper them and not to harm them, to give them hope and a future. In fact, what God wanted for people from the very beginning was for them to thrive, to prosper, to live full and joyfully in the paradise he had created for them. But humanity has chosen ever since to live in the squalor and confinement of self-will and selfishness.
Even so, his promise still stands. He continues to renew his original plan generation after generation. It’s there for us today, at this very moment. He can break our shackles forged by our sin and foolish choices and set us free to pursue the way that leads to everlasting life…”
“There’s only one qualification: he wants us to seek him with all our heart. When he becomes number one in our lives, when and only when we acknowledge him as God and king, our life will straighten out, be turned right-side-up, and become what it was designed to be.”
TODAY’S PRAYER: Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you any hidden areas of your life that are roadblocks to his blessings for you. Ask him for his supernatural power to hold him first in your life above all else.
