Your 100 Day Prayer: Day 100 – A New Day

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

Do you ever wonder how you can get anything done for God in this world where evil is thriving and no one is listening or caring about what you may have to offer? Dr. Snyder reminds us that “this statement comes from a man who lived twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, in the midst of the most terrible conditions and in a generation that clung to every other religion or philosophy under the sun except Jesus.

But what we need to get straight once and for all is that our own personal measurement of things is totally irrelevant when it comes to our labor in the kingdom of God. It really doesn’t matter what it looks like or how insignificant we think we are. It’s not about us. It’s about God and his power. What he wants of us is not our spectacular talents or great ability to be successful. He wants our faithfulness. He takes care of the rest.

On our one-hundredth day of prayer, let us rededicate ourselves, our families, our resources, our lives—all that we are and have—to the glory and honor of God. Let us commit ourselves to exhibit his love and compassion and to let him do with us whatever pleases him and best fulfills his plan for our lives. It’s the only thing we can do in this life that’s really worth it.

Lord, as I reflect on my one hundred days of prayer, I realize more than ever before that I’m totally and forever dependent upon you and your mercy. It’s not the quality or the quantity of my words that unite your will and mine. It’s not my goodness, faithfulness, or great spiritual performance that make the difference but, rather, your goodness and unearned faithfulness toward me. So in spite of all I’ve asked for and the many times I’ve repeated to you my desires and wishes, and as strongly as I want what I want, what I really desire above all else is your highest and best. I pray with and in the name of your Son Jesus: let your perfect will alone be done. Amen.
