Weekly Invite – 27 November – First Sunday of Advent
Sunday, 27 November, we return to our winter meeting worship time – 16:00 hrs! Pastor Snyder will be preaching on The Promise Keeper-2: When God Makes A Promise. We’ll be looking at Scripture verses 1 Chronicles 16:8-15.
First Sunday of Advent, 27 November – Advent Soup Supper and Wreath Making—Family and friends are welcome! You don’t have to attend Starnberg Fellowship to be a part of this event.
For the supper:
-Bring a dessert or bread to share. If you’d like to contribute a soup, please write to Shirin at [email protected].
For the Wreath Making: Those who will be taking part in the Advent wreath decorating, please bring the following materials:
— A pre-made greenery wreath. You can buy these at OBI, Hagebaumarkt, Dehner Garten Center, or any local flower shop or garden center in your village. They come in all sizes.
— 4 candle bases that stick into the wreath, the type that have sharp little points on both sides (longer points go into the wreath; shorter points are for the candles). Bring four candles if you wish to light the first Advent candle at church.
— Whatever you wish to decorate it with. You can use literally anything: ribbons, bows, garlands, ornaments, beads, buttons, sea shells, figurines, small toys, cookie cutters, candy canes, dried fruit, cinnamon sticks, nuts, pine cones (I’m bringing plenty of those), etc. You can use any color scheme you like: gold, silver, copper, red, burgundy, white, cream, purple, pink — whatever colors you like with whatever theme you want. This is where you can let your creative side run wild and just have fun with it!!
— Tools needed: hot glue gun, scissors, wire cutters, garden clippers. An old sheet or tablecloth would also be handy to contain most of the mess and make our cleanup easier. I have plenty of glue sticks that I will bring with my glue gun.
Looking forward to our evening of decorating!
