Your 100 Day Prayer: Day 57 – Set Free
by TJ Bates
In my anguish I cried to the Lord, and he answered by setting me free. The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
–Psalm 118:5-6
Have you had times in your life when you have prayed “in my anguish” and you were delivered and set free? I have, and the writer says, “We’re actually in a long line of those who have gone before us and done the same thing.”
He goes on to say: “God wants us to reach the same unshakable conviction as they and the psalmist who said ‘The lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?’ This is the nature of fearlessness offered to those who trust God. It was taught by Jesus and is reaffirmed by the apostles in their letters and journals…and anyone of faith we choose to interview today in any part of the world.
“So cry out to the Lord about your pain, your frustration, you anguish, your sorrow, and trust in him to deliver and comfort you in his way and time. It may be true that you’re slogging through at the moment with troubles and enemies of all kinds surrounding you, but know that you are actually moving forward toward a brighter day, simply because it’s God who is your Guide on the journey and the Lord of tomorrow.”
TODAY’S PRAYER: Express to God your grateful confidence that whatever bondage or captivity you face today, freedom is on the way. Take heart in the fact that nothing can stop it.
