Your 100 Day Prayer: Day 31 – Love
A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
-John 13:34
I just love LOVE! Don’t you? Don’t you LOVE that dress or LOVE that movie or LOVE what I’m saying? In the present day, “love” is a word that is overused and often has no meaning. However, Jesus is not using the word love carelessly as we do. He wants us to truly love one another—to be a conduit of his love to others. Dr. Snyder describes this love as follows:
“When believers live intentionally by the kind of love Jesus is talking about, a love that is a product of the Holy Spirit’s presence among us, it gains the attention of the world. People aren’t as interested in the doctrines we hold as in the way we live and treat others, the way we care for them and give ourselves for them. When they see something real here, they’ll be more interested in finding out what it is we believe.”
TODAY’S PRAYER: If you’re wondering what your job description is in the period of waiting on God, then remember that love is Jesus’ central command for the life of faith and one of the greatest joys you can ever experience.
