Happy New Year!
This Sunday is Communion Sunday: Join us as we gather together to celebrate the beginning of another year of seeking God’s favor and direction. Pastor John will be preaching on “Born of the Virgin” (how does this apply to the new year?) and Scripture verses we’ll be focusing on are Luke 1:26-38.
It’s the New Year! Here are “5 Surprising Scientific Reasons to Attend Church.” In addition to all the spiritual benefits of attending church, Laura Rowley, an award-winning journalist and author, asks, “did you know that studies have found it’s good for your physical and mental health, too?” Here are five surprising benefits of attending church:
1. Going to church boosts the immune system, lowers blood pressure and helps you live longer.
2. Frequent churchgoers have a larger social circle and with more kinds of support than people who don’t attend.
3. People who go to services regularly are less likely to be depressed.
4. Teens who regularly attend church do better in school.
5. Churchgoers are happier with their lives overall.
