Church Life Weekly Invite – 10 February 2019

Weekly Invite – 10 February 2019

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

This Sunday, 10 February, Philipp Meinecke will be preaching: “I am sure we have all been there at one point or another. Maybe you are there now, or you know someone who is. It’s this cloud that’s hanging over your head, which is accompanied by various other symptoms. Some call it “funk,” others call it depression. Call it getting down in the dumps or singing the blues, but what we are describing is this feeling that God has forgotten about us and that we may never be able to get on track with Him again. It’s a puzzling condition that has been placed in the category of taboo subjects among believers, and yet it is something most of us will experience at some point in our journey. If we are not careful, it has the potential to shipwreck our faith. But if seen for what it is, is understood from where it comes from, and if dealt with biblically, it can serve as the most fait-building experience of your life. Truth is: you’re not alone. Don’t give up. The last chapter remains to be written.” The sermon title is “When the Clouds Won’t Lift” and the Scripture will be Psalm 42.

Prayer and Bible Study Group on Tuesdays. Join us as we alternate between Bible study and focused prayer. Meetings are at the Powells’ in Pasing. Please contact us for the address.

The next Coffee and Conversation Morning will be Wednesday, 13 March from 10:00-12:00 here at Christuskirche. Children are welcome! And mark your calendars for the following days: 10 April, 8 May, and 5 June.

JAM SESSION following worship today!

Youth Sunday and Movie Night is February 24, and the youth will be leading worship! If you’d like to be part of the Sunday service, please let Sarah or Stephanie know.

Save the Date for our Annual Church Retreat: 5 July to 7 July in Berchtesgaden. Our speaker will be Stuart Bell. After serving in a number of churches in Wales, Stuart became Rector in the university town of Aberystwyth in 1988 where he faithfully preached the gospel to generations of students and townspeople alike for over 25 years. Although a Sais (Englishman) Stuart learnt Welsh in order to minister to the local people. He also has a fantastic memory for names, making an effort to remember the names of all the students coming through each year. Today he lives with his wife Pru (a magistrate for 21 years) above Borth on the Welsh coast. Although officially retired, he continues to serve as a minister as well as regularly leading guided tours of Israel.
