Life on Fury Road

Dear Friends,

Think you’ve got problems? It could be worse!

But thank God for his mercy and grace.

This Sunday’s sermon is Life on Fury Road, and we’ll be looking at Isaiah 43:18-19. This is one of those passages where God is explaining to Israel that, even though they have acted disgracefully and been profoundly unfaithful to him, he is still faithful to them and intends to restore all that was lost when they turned away from his goodness. The is good news for all of us. There is nothing that can separate us from God’s faithfulness to us.

Why does God insist on giving us this kind of hope and rescue when we have given him nothing but rebellion and foolishness? Just because that’s who God is—the Holy One of Israel. It’s the mark of his character, and by that alone and nothing else we are sure of his constant faithfulness, his rescuing power from every impossible situation, and his ability to open a door that doesn’t even now exist. He can create a way out that you can’t possibly imagine.

This Sunday, we’ll also be celebrating Youth Sunday with the youth leading the service. Many thanks to Erin Miller for her great work with our youth. There will be a potluck following the worship service.

Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday.

In Christ’s love,
Pastor John

“Remember not the former things,
nor consider the things of old.
Behold, I am doing a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
and rivers in the desert.”
